For systems and software to help Macmillan Cancer Support manage the help line and the e-mail and fax inquiries it receives daily.
The telecommunication and software equipment allows Macmillan Cancer Support to host online discussion forums and live Web chats, record calls and produce transcripts of Web discussions for improved quality assurance and staff training, maintain a searchable reference archive of all e-mails and responses, and lays the groundwork for the ability to send messages/e-mails to mobile phones.
Founded in 1985, Macmillan Cancer Support has become Europe’s largest independent provider of cancer information. The organization provides information and support to those suffering from cancer and to their families through its national free phone helpline, its Web site, as well as its network of local centers. It also distributes to the public a comprehensive range of booklets and oncology fact sheets.
