Macmillan Cancer Support provides information and support to those suffering with cancer and their families. It is the largest provider of cancer information in Great Britain and serves more than 50,000 people annually. It operates a free, national telephone help line and a library that contains 3,500 cancer-related documents. In addition, the agency operates eight local service centers in Great Britain and a Web site that is visited by 300,000 users monthly. Macmillan Cancer Support also distributes free of charge 58 booklets and 130 oncology fact sheets that are frequently updated by the agency’s medical advisory and editorial boards.
